Slim Down Saturday

2015 is my year! I'm joining tons of other teachers in a mission to get healthy!

Thanks Teaching with a Touch of Pixie Dust for a great linky idea!

Health is my goal, not weight. I want to be healthy for my family. I want to be able to run and play with my baby girl.

I'm going to put it all out there for you. I'm 188. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), and I have Meniere's Disease.
PCOS makes you gain weight and makes it sooo much harder to lose it . Read about the disease (here).
Meniere's Disease causes extreme and sudden vertigo. Along with that, throwing up. It also causes deafness in one or both ears over time (I already have moderate hearing loss in my right ear).

Not much can be done about meniere's, but lots can be done about PCOS. Most of that includes being fit and healthy.

Me in Middle.Yes, that is Leigh from The Applicious Teacher on the left.
This is me at 21. Before the PCOS made me gain all my weight. This is my ideal image.

This is my now.

  1. I think the quotes are going to be my favorite part of this. I also have PCOS and have been struggling to lose weight. I'm doing Whole30 right now and I'm hoping it will help since I'll be cutting out all grains. I cut out all gluten over the summer and it really did help. We shall see. Good luck in your journey!

  4. Love your quote. For me it's so easy to plan and wish, but I need to actually do it. Here's to 2015 being the year!

    1. Hi Brandi! Yes. it is so easy to plan and then think of a million excuses not to follow through. I've been there a dozen times. We can do this!

  5. Good luck with all of your goals this week! Little changes like less sugar and moving more will add up to big lifestyle changes and weight loss.
